What's the difference between H2O and HTML/OS.

My Hosting Provider does not have H2O? What should I do?
Have your host visit http://h2o.aestiva.com/h2o/faqs.html and then install a copy into your account. H2O is free and almost all hosts can run it.
Can I run H2O on my laptop?
Yes. Go ahead and download the version called
H2O for MS for Windows Desktop. This version auto installs H2O (with a built-in web server) for use on a stand-alone PC.
My office is not hooked up to the web. Can I use H2O anyway?
Yes. H2O runs on any web server, even if it is not hooked up to the web.
Is H2O more powerful than other development environments?
The H2O database is a 4GL, which is a generation ahead of SQL. In addition, the H2O language itself is very advanced. See, for example, the article titled H2O vs. PhP.
What is Web-networking?
Web-networking is a protocol that allows different copies of H2O to network with each other. You set up the network using the Control Panel in each copy of H2O. Once set up, each copy of H2O acts as a file and/or database server to the other. The beauty of Web-networking is that it's solely dependent on standard TCP/IP and the HTTP protocol. No underlying network setup is needed.
Furthermore, the different copies of H2O can be on different kinds of hardware.
How come I never heard of you?
H2O was released January 1, 2004. Until then, few heard of Aestiva since our products started at one-thousand dollars. Although Aestiva has thousands of customers (including government, military, education, fortune 100, and non-profits) we have remained unknown, giving us time to develop and mature.
Which H2O engine does Aestiva use to build its products?
Aestiva uses HTML/OS. In fact, Aestiva's developers use the same
exact version that's sold.
Will my H2O apps run on HTML/OS?
Yes. Apps developed on any H2O engine run on any HTML/OS engine, and vice versa. Furthermore, they'll run on any hardware platform supported by any of the engines. And they run regardless of whether you're on 32 or 64 bit hardware.
Will my H2O apps run on future versions of H2O and HTML/OS?
Yes. H2O and HTML/OS maintains backwords compatibility to ensure
products do not need to be upgraded when Aestiva upgrades its engines.
