Performance

H2O has been ported to and runs on a variety of hardware platforms executing a variety of operating system software. Test measurements of some programs on current high-end computer systems such as workstations and medium-performance servers show results roughly as follows:

Comparison Test - 3 microseconds.
FOR or WHILE Loop - 28 microseconds per loop.
1 Megabyte File Read/Write - 10 milliseconds.
Delimited File Read/Write - 20,000 rows per second.
100 row array sort - 65 microseconds.

This is comparable to compiled applications and much faster than low-level interpreted languages.
